Editor's Letter October 2011

Dear Reader,

October is a beautiful month, the flowers are in full bloom, and the thunder showers are magnificent. The rugby is as entertaining as ever and parenthood has its usual ups and downs. That’s why we are here for you.

Tum2Mom takes a closer look at Breast Cancer. We teach you exactly how to examine your own breasts, complete with a YouTube video.

We also tell you more about Foetal Alcohol Syndrome, if this article doesn’t put you off drinking during pregnancy nothing else will!

In celebration of National Nutrition Week, we supply top nutritional tips that are easy to fit into a busy lifestyle. We take a look at the importance of teaching your child how to wash their hands properly in support of Global Handwashing Day.

And you can also read our new articles on Strokes and Down Syndrome.

Feel free to email us your questions and tell us about any funny, heart warming experiences you have had since becoming a parent.

Yours in parenting,
Janine & Elizabeth

Editor's Letter August 2011

Dear Reader,

It is August and I can’t help counting down the days to spring. It is National Women’s Month and in order to celebrate we would like to giveaway a photo shoot in the privacy of your own home. To enter the competition email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it and tell us why you love being a woman.

We would love to hear your stories, your tips and words of wisdom that help get you through tricky parenting situations. My daughter, Chloe, has started emitting a hissing-sort-of growl, when I ask her to do something that she doesn’t want to do. How on earth am I supposed to respond?

Congratulations to our winners!  Angelique Steyn wins 5 delightful kiddies books, compliments of Pan Macmillan. And Leon Farquhar wins a free subscription to Stuff Magazine for one year. To redeem your prizes, please email This e-mail address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it

If you would like to sponsor a prize on the Tum2Mom website let us know!
