Lowveld Botanical Garden
Description: A visit to Nelspruit would be incomplete, without witnessing the majestic beauty of the Nels and Crocodile Rivers merging in the Lowveld Botanical Gardens. The river banks are dominated by evergreen forest belts on the West and tropical African rainforests on the East. The garden also boasts over 650 indigenous South African tree species, ancient cycads and a variety of shrubs. Pack a picnic or stop in at Riverbend Coffee Farm, for home-grown, home-brewed coffee and a bite to eat.
The Dinosaur Park
Description: The Dinosaur Park hosts a museum of life size dinosaur models, that will stimulate enquiring minds and visually explain the history of the planet. Replica's of these pre-historic creatures, who roamed the earth over a 100 million years ago, are displayed in a lush real life sub-tropical garden, amidst living, playing monkeys and sub-tropical birds who as a survived evolution. History is recreated through scientifically accurate representations of the skeletons of amphibians and homo sapiens, as well as dinosaur 'footprints". The Park is the home of Mr & Mrs. Pless, the million year old apes, who spark debate about the origins of mankind. The Dinosaur Park is an interesting and fascinating experience for visitors of all ages. Take the R37 towards Nelspruit for 20km, take R539 offramp at Rosehaugh, travel 16km and turn right at the T-Junction
